Car Lockout Procedures

1. Unlocking Methods

A. Using the Lishi Tool

The Lishi tool is a good choice for opening car locks without damage.

Advantages:

  • It can open the lock and find the lock code at the same time.

  • There is very little chance of breaking or hurting the lock.

How to Use It:

  • Use gentle pressure to feel the pins inside the lock.

  • Do not push too hard, or the tool might get stuck.

Using a Lishi Tool: Step-by-Step Guide

  1.  Choose the Right Lishi Tool:

  • Make sure you have the correct Lishi tool for the car. Different cars need different tools.

  1.  Put the Lishi Tool in the Lock:

  • Gently put the Lishi tool into the car’s lock. Make sure it fits well and is all the way inside.

  1.  Use Light Pressure:

  • Use the tension part of the tool to add gentle pressure. Do not push too hard, or the tool might get stuck.

  1.  Feel for the Pins:

  • Use the pick part of the tool to feel each pin inside the lock. Lift them slowly and carefully.

  1. Listen and Feel:

  • Listen for small clicks or feel small movements. This means a pin is in the right place.

  1. Set All the Pins:

  • Keep lifting each pin one by one. Use just enough pressure to set each pin.

  1. Open the Car:

  • When all the pins are in the right place, the lock will turn. Turn it gently to open the car door.

  1. Find the Lock Code (if needed):

  • If you need a new key, use the tool to find out the lock code by checking the pins.

B. Air-Wedge Entry

This method is used if you don’t have a Lishi tool.

Steps:

  1. Gently put one or two air wedges between the top of the car door and the frame.
  2. Slowly pump air into the wedges to make a small gap. Don’t use too much pressure.
  3. Use a long stick or rod to lift the door lock pin or pull the door handle from the inside.

Be Careful:

  • Don’t over-pump the air wedges, or you might bend the door.
  • Only make a small gap, just enough to slide the tool inside safely.

Airbag-Assisted Entry: Easy Steps

  1. Get Your Tools:

    • You need one or two air wedges and a long stick or rod.

  1. Put in the Air Wedges:

    • Slide the air wedges (deflated) between the top of the car door and the frame. Be careful not to damage the car.

  1. Pump Up the Air Wedges:

    • Slowly pump air into the wedges. This will make a small gap. Don’t over-pump, or you might damage the door.

  1. Make Space:

    • When there is a small gap, put the long stick inside to reach the car's lock.

  1. Unlock the Car:

    • Use the stick to lift the lock pin or pull the inside door handle. The car will unlock if you pull the handle.

  1. Remove the Air Wedges:

    • Let the air out of the wedges and take them out. Check to make sure there is no damage.

2. Safety Tips

General Safety:

  • Be careful with your tools and don’t use too much force.

  • Watch the lock and door to make sure you don’t damage anything.

For BMW Cars:

  • Don’t jump-start the car directly on the battery. Use the special points for jump-starting.

  • Be extra careful when unlocking to protect the car’s electronics.

Using Airbags:

  • Only pump the airbags enough to make a small gap.

  • Too much pressure can damage the door frame or seals.
